What running a business here actually looks like
Where Midland has the offices, Odessa has the yards. Hot shot outfits, vacuum truck fleets, welding and fabrication shops, roustabout crews. The operational shape is different: more assets, more drivers, more moving parts per day, and far more of the business conducted from a truck cab.
Dispatch here is usually a phone and a text thread. That works until it doesn't — until two drivers get sent to the same location, or a load runs without a ticket, or a driver quits and takes the customer relationship with him because it never lived anywhere but his phone.
We build the boring layer underneath: who's assigned to what, what got hauled, what it bills at, and what documentation the customer needs attached. Same trucks, same crews, same customers. Fewer loads that never get billed.
Most of this work happens remotely once we're set up. The first assessment is on-site — we need to see how the job actually runs, not how it's described in a meeting.
